STEP 3: Provisioning Kahi-Enabled Raven Vehicle Gateways

Installation Steps

Please ensure that your vehicle is safely parked when installing Raven. Do not get the unit wet. Do not block the ventilation openings. Clean only with a dry cloth. Only use the supplied power cable with your Raven. Never open or modify your Raven in any manner. Ensure any excess power cable is properly secured. The interior of your vehicle should be 60°F (15°C) or warmer when installing your Raven.

What you need:

  • Raven Device
  • Raven Login & Mobile App
     
  1. PLUG the Raven+ power cord into the vehicles OBDII port
  2. PLACE the SD card in the slot with the brand label facing up towards Raven’s screen. Push the SD card into the slot it should securely click into place.
  3. GENTLY plug the other end of the power adapter into the bottom of the Raven+ device.
  4. REMOVE the protective film from the screen and camera lens on the back of the device.
  5. SELECT desired mounting location. Raven+ can be either mounted on the windshield or on the dash. Make sure there are no obstructions in the view of the cameras. Also check that there is adequate cable length before committing to the position.
  6. USE alcohol wipe to thoroughly clean the surface and allow it to dry completely.
  7. REMOVE adhesive covering and apply firm prolonged pressure to mount the Raven+. For windshield installations, pull back the far-sides of the plastic mount so the adhesive in the middle touches as much of the glass as possible.
  8. USING the Allen key, tighten the mount.Tuck cable along the dash and/or use the cable clips provided.
  9. BUNDLE additional cable, being cautious not to crimp the wire. Using cable ties or zip ties can be helpful. DO NOT leave the line hanging down; tuck and secure it under the dash where there is room.
  10. START using your Raven+. Head to app.raven.is to see your Raven live.Rename your Raven units from the Raven web app - these names will port over to Kahi so you can easily identify ‘who is who’.
  • Tip: When provisioning your mobile gateway, please ensure the provided SD card is installed with the unit. This will ensure the device records information securely and protects against internal memory card damage.
