Kahi Warehouse Gateway Installation

Kahi Warehouse Gateway is the central hub for your assets; it’s important to install this device BEFORE setting up asset beacons

⚙️ Permissions Note: Only users with Owner or Manager roles have permission to install or uninstall gateways.

What you need:

• Your Kahi Warehouse Gateway (KWG) unit and USB-C cable
• Electrical power access, preferably using a surge protector
• Kahi Configuration App installed on your mobile device

⭐️ New Kahi Customers:
Your primary warehouse location has already been created and linked to your account during setup — you do not need to create a new warehouse, though you may need to adjust its address if it’s different from what you provided during sign up

⭐️Existing Customers: 
To add another Warehouse, do so via your Warehouse tab in your Kahi Web App:

1. GO to Warehouses in the left-hand menu.
2. CLICK New Warehouse (green button).
3. ENTER and select your warehouse address from the dropdown suggestions. Rename it to something unique and descriptive.
4. CHOOSE which users should have access to this warehouse.
5. CLICK Create — your new location is ready.

Installation Steps

1. UNPACK your KWG and keep the barcode label handy. It may be useful later on to identify the serial number on your device
2. MOUNT the KWG in a secure, unobtrusive area — ideally high up on a wall overlooking your storage area or near where assets enter/exit. Use a zip tie or similar method to keep it secure.
3. PLUG in the KWG using the USB-C power cable and adapter
   • Use a surge protector if possible to prevent power issues
4. WAIT about 15 minutes for the KWG to power on, register, and complete its firmware update
   • The blue indicator light will flash during the update
   • When it transitions to a steady or fading blue, the KWG is successfully connected to the Kahi Cloud

Finalize Setup in the Kahi Configuration App

1. OPEN the Kahi Configuration App
2. TAP the ☰ (hamburger menu) in the upper left corner
3. SELECT “Gateways”
4. LOCATE your pre-provisioned KWG in the list and tap it
5. TAP “Install”
6. CONFIRM the information displayed, then assign it to your main warehouse location (already added to your account)
7. TAKE a few photos of the KWG in its installed area for future reference
   • This helps you remember where it’s mounted for maintenance or troubleshooting later

• The Kahi Warehouse Gateway (KWG) is a key component of your Kahi tracking system. It transforms your workshop, warehouse, or other storage area into the “home base” for your assets — allowing your equipment to automatically connect and update location and environmental data when nearby.
• Adding a warehouse will affect your billing ($150/month per new warehouse location). Only create one when you’re ready to install the KWG.
