For customers preferring to hardwire the KVG device to the vehicle, you can follow the below guidelines.
Please review the notes below carefully.
If you choose to install the KVG without following Kahi’s KVG standard installation process, we can’t take responsibility for any damage to your vehicle or the device. Installing it differently is totally up to you, but it’s at your own risk.
-
Hardwire Installation kit: You are able to choose a kit of your choice, as long as it provides a standard 5V USB type C standard power output.

- Follow the instructions per the kit, and the advice of your certified automotive technician.
- The KVGs built-in power supply is designed to handle surges from the vehicle's main power line. The only thing to consider is that the cigarette plug is protected by a fuse. When hardwiring it to the main line, you should add an adequate protection system in case of a short circuit.
- If the vehicle is parked for long periods, you should keep an eye on the vehicle's battery and power the module down in case it's low, to prevent draining it.
- You can also consider rigging a cutoff to the device when the vehicle’s engine is not on. Whomever you get to install the direct setup should know what to do regarding safeguarding the vehicle battery.
