Just like Santa’s elves, we have been hard at work, making some pretty big (and some little but important!) changes and improvements to your favourite smart asset tracking platform! Today, we are excited to share these gifts with you, our amazing clients. A lot of the changes implemented are from direct conversations we had with our customers. We value your feedback - together, we make Kahi better and better each day.
What’s new?
Mobile App Changes
Asset Beacon Provisioning
The biggest change we present to you is our new asset provisioning flow. With the use of OCR technology to streamline the process, you can now zip through getting your equipment provisioned with a Kahi tracking beacon in fewer steps and less manual input. Read more about that here.

Settings menu has been moved to the side navigation footer

Alerts icon added in the upper right corner - access alerts list from ANYWHERE in the app (not just the Map view)
Alerts

We’ve split out the offline gateway alerts into two separate categories: mobile and fixed.

A “New Locations” alert has been added for easier review.

“Unidentified Assets” alert has been added to keep track and reassess any assets without proper ID during the provisioning process

Asset Categories

Asset Categories are now maintained by Kahi admin as a part of the provisioning changes we’ve added. This means we have now removed top-level asset categories functionality from the app
Organization
-
We've added settings so that the user can enable or disable automatic discovery of new locations (beneficial for those who have integrated their Encircle/Kahi accounts)

We have hidden unneeded tabs, based on user permissions, to reduce ‘noise’ and confusion
-
New location, vehicle, and warehouse pages support additional operations (delete, restore, get asset csv)
Billing

The billing email can now be edited, and can now be found under the billing tab
Assets
-
Added nearby locations, warehouses, and vehicles to the asset map
-
Field changes related to asset provisioning rework

Asset status colours and badges changed to be consistent with the new design (no more scary red offline labels!)
Unconfirmed Locations

Shows nearby warehouses and vehicles when confirming a location
-
Unconfirmed locations now include a “logged at” timestamp to better help identify when the job site was created
Gateways

Added the ability to change a gateway installation from the web app
Map View

Added vehicles, warehouses, locations and orphaned assets to the maps built-in search bar
Location

Legacy location status colours and badges changed to be consistent with new design
