To identify your vehicles that are powered with Kahi-Enabled Raven dashcam, you can rename them from within the Raven platform.
Changing the name from the Kahi platform will only revert back to the name set in the Raven platform.
Vehicles should be named uniquely, to avoid cross-over static on the platform.
When a Kahi-Enabled Raven is first plugged into your vehicle, typically a serial number (1RVP########) will populate for its name. You can edit this as you wish, or use it as part of your naming scheme.
There can be some anomalies though; sometimes a vehicle name may come up as "Unknown" or something else that is odd. This is not indicative of a defect or problem. There are multiple variables to consider, as each car make/model communicates slightly differently, despite the CANBus standard. For example, some vehicles have on-board software that does not like data communication, which may cause irregular behaviour. As well, if the Raven was swapped from one vehicle to another vehicle, this irregular behaviour may also occur.
- Log into your Raven account. Click the "Resources" tab that is vertically located on the left side of the screen.
- Locate the vehicle that you wish to rename, and hover your mouse on it - an 'edit' pencil will appear. Click on the pencil and rename the vehicle however you wish to identify it. Some suggestions include:
- Warehouse Identifier (if you have multi locations) plus Vehicle Make/Model and Number
- Vehicle Make/Model and License Number
- Owner/operator of the vehicle and Vehicle Make/Model
