Properly storing and maintaining your Kahi EnviroSensors helps extend their lifespan, prevent contamination between jobs, and ensure accurate performance in the field.
Storing EnviroSensors Between Jobs
Your EnviroSensors are built to withstand field conditions however, for longevity:
- Use a sensor storage case (recommended: holds up to 10 sensors).
- Keep the probe securely attached to the lead or coupler during storage.
- Ensure sensors are powered off—this happens automatically when removed correctly via the Kahi app.
- Avoid leaving sensors outside exposed for long periods when not in use.
- Store in cool, dry environments when not deployed.
- Periodically inspect for:
- Cracked housing
- Bent probe pins
- Damaged QR/NFC tags
- Allow sensors to acclimate for 30 minutes before deploying at a new job site for best accuracy.
Battery Care & Replacement
- Each EnviroSensor uses a ½ AA lithium battery, pre-installed at the factory.
- Expected battery life is at least 1 year.
- Batteries should be replaced if the LED flashes red 3 times when pressing the A button (indicating <25% charge).
- To replace the battery:
- Remove the four screws on the sensor housing.
- Insert a fresh ½ AA lithium battery securely in the clip.
- Power on and sync the sensor via the Kahi app to reset the internal clock.
Note: Removing the battery clears the sensor’s internal Real Time Clock (RTC). Always reconnect to the sensor using the Kahi Moble app after battery replacement to ensure accurate timestamping.
