Before you begin using Kahi Monitoring in the field, it’s important to make sure your account, equipment, and mobile app are properly set up. This section walks through the essential tools, software, and conditions needed to get started.
Subscription Requirements
To use Kahi’s environmental monitoring features, your account must be on a Monitoring-enabled subscription:
- If you're currently using Kahi Tracking, you'll need to upgrade to the Tracking + Monitoring tier.
- You can confirm your subscription level or request an upgrade by contacting your Kahi account manager or Customer Support at support@kahi.io.
Required Hardware
To fully leverage Kahi Monitoring, we recommend the following equipment for each job site:
-
One (1) Kahi EnviroSensor for each of the following zones:
- Outside (Common Chamber)
- HVAC (Common Chamber)
- Unaffected zone (Common Chamber)
- Each affected zone (Affected Chambers)
- Each piece of drying equipment or asset you want to monitor (optional)
-
Job Site Gateway (JSG)
- Optional but highly recommended for remote jobs or when real-time frequent measurements are needed.
- The JSG collects data from nearby sensors and uploads it to the cloud every 15 minutes.
- If no gateway is used, a technician must sync data manually using the Kahi Mobile App while onsite.
-
Nanuk Sensor Case (Optional but Useful)
- Holds up to 10 EnviroSensors.
- Helps keep sensors organized and protected during transport.
- Probes can remain attached to the leads when stored.
Required Software
Kahi Mobile App: App download: Kahi on the App Store
