Installation/ Provisioning of the Kahi Trailer Gateway
🚨IMPORTANT🚨: Ensure your Kahi Mobile Provisioning app is updated to the latest version and you have Manager or above permission rights. 'Member' permission rights will not allow completing the set up.
Three Easy Steps
STEP 1: ADD Trailers via Kahi Web Browser App
-
Create a new trailer using the Kahi browser app. Under the "Trailers" page, a ‘New trailer’ button resides at the top right corner of the top navigation bar.
-
View added trailers by clicking on "All", "Tracked", or "Not Tracked"
-
Tracked: trailers with gateways
-
Not tracked: trailers with no gateways
-
**Creating a new trailer impacts billing just like creating a new warehouse location.**
STEP 2: USE the Kahi Mobile App to Provision the Trailer Gateway
- Log into the Kahi Configuration mobile app.
- Tap the upper left corner to access the "Gateways" page.
- Tap the Barcode scanner in the upper right or the plus sign in the bottom right; scan the trailer gateway with your camera screen. Hot Tip: It doesn’t matter if you are on the warehouse, vehicle, or trailer tab, the "plus" will always launch the gateway provisioning flow.
- Select the trailer that the gateway is to be installed to from the dropdown. The dropdown is populated with the untracked trailers that were created in the web app.
- Follow the steps on screen to finish provisioning trailer gateway and start tracking!
The Trailer page in the Kahi Mobile App will list all trailers that were created in the web app. The trailers details page will show tracking status, name, latest coordinates, last seen, and any images captured.
Symbols in the mobile app:
- ❓Unknown: not tracked
- ✔️ Checkmark/online (or ‘X’ icon/offline) + time: tracked
You cannot provision a gateway from the trailer page. To provision a gateway, visit the gateways page and hit the ‘plus’ icon located at the bottom right.
Step 3: INSTALL Trailer Gateway into your Trailer (if not done during the steps above)
The unit should be secured in a safe spot within the trailer using double-sided Velcro adhesive, as an example. Ensure it is placed in a location that has optimal line of sight scan ability of the assets for maximum radius range.
